Bio: Ron Elsdon, Ph.D.
Ron Elsdon brings a wealth of experience to career and workforce development, organizational consulting and individual career
consulting and coaching. His organizational practice, Elsdon Organizational Renewal (EOR) (a division of Elsdon, Inc.), integrates
career, workforce and leadership development approaches with organizational assessment processes to strengthen and revitalize
organizations. EOR draws on the expertise of skilled consultants trained in career consulting, interview techniques and analysis.
His individual career consulting and coaching practice, New Beginnings Career and College Guidance, provides caring and
personalized support to individuals in creating a meaningful path forward.
Ron's work with organizations and individuals includes his private practices, corporate, non-profit and public sector settings and
extends to public speaking, publishing and lecturing. In 2000, Ron and his co-author were awarded the Walker prize by the
Human Resource Planning Society for the paper that best advances state-of-the-art thinking or practices in human resources.
Ron is author of the book "Affiliation in the Workplace: Value Creation in the New Organization" published by Praeger (2003),
and editor of the books "Building Workforce Strength: Creating Value through Workforce and Career Development" Praeger
(2010), and “Business Behaving Well: Social Responsibility, from Learning to Doing” Potomac Books, Inc. (2013).
Ron Elsdon has more than 25 years of leadership experience working with U.S. and international organizations in a broad range
of sectors (e.g. public sector, education, healthcare, high technology, chemicals, energy and textiles). His responsibilities have
included workforce and leadership development, general management for portfolios of growing businesses and management of
business development, research and development, marketing, sales and operations. Ron founded or led practices for a leading
human resource consulting firm, supporting organizations in improving workforce and leadership effectiveness and senior
executives in transition. Ron was also responsible for workforce development services delivered to individuals and organizations
by a non-profit organization specializing in the career field. Prior to these positions, he was a division general manager in an
organization supplying process materials to the electronics industry, and prior to that was with a chemical company in a variety
of positions, most recently as Director of Research and Development. Ron has been an adjunct faculty member at John F.
Kennedy University and Santa Clara University and has been affiliated with Vanderbilt University. He holds a Ph.D. in Chemical
Engineering from Cambridge University, a Master's degree in Career Development from John F. Kennedy University, and a first
class honors degree in Chemical Engineering from Leeds University.
