Our studies show that a primary disconnect occurring in many organizations is lack of listening within the organization, externally and individually. This stops leaders understanding critical issues and designing appropriate actions. Our diagnostic tools overcome such barriers and provide clarity about a path forward.
Purpose
In a world where value creation is mainly about people, leaders must bridge from their functional knowledge to business acumen to strong interpersonal skills. Each domain presents significant challenges, particularly the interpersonal area. It requires complex skills for which there are limited role models for the emerging workforce, and on which there is limited emphasis in conventional business or technology education.

Not surprisingly many of the factors limiting organizations from reaching their full potential are directly related to interpersonal leadership challenges. The workshops and individual coaching provide a safe environment for individual leaders to explore and develop their leadership capabilities.

Approach
A core one day workshop, which can also be delivered in two half-day sessions or a series of four two-hour modules, anchors the workforce leadership development process. It is complemented by a series of individual coaching sessions that focus on the practical application of leadership principles. Further skill development occurs through a series of elective workshops.

The core workshop contains the following components:
-The leadership imperative: changing leadership for a changing world,
-Alternative views of leadership: drawing from Ron Elsdon's research and publications from other thought leaders in the field,
-The emerging leader: leadership processes, leadership roles, overcoming barriers to effective leaders, and leadership behaviors
-Understanding personal leadership style: building on a leading leadership assessment instrument, leadership courage, and developing an action plan moving forward

An elective workshop complements the core segment.

Outcomes
On completing the core segment and additional individual coaching, selected elective workshops, participants emerge with strengthened leadership capabilities:
-Clarity about their own leadership style and development opportunities
-An action plan for honing leadership skills
-An appreciation of different approaches to leadership
-An awareness of barriers to effective leadership and how to overcome them
-An understanding of leadership courage and its personal meaning
-Leadership skill development in selected areas
