Purpose

A key life skill for individuals today to identify and secure career options, is that of effective identification and exploration of alternatives.  This means the ability to connect with others and explore areas of common interest  This workshop will equip participants with the skills to do this effectively.

Approach

The three-hour workshop explores both the content and process associated with effective external exploration, addressing the following elements:

bulletSetting personal objectives
bulletNetworking
bulletWhat it is and what it isn't
bulletFraming your network
bulletExamining your network
bulletInformational interviewing
bulletHow to conduct an effective informational interview
bulletWho to contact
bulletPutting the puzzle together and creating an action plan

Outcomes

Participants develop skills that allow them to:

bulletIdentify and explore options in external organizations
bulletIdentify and explore options in their current organization
bulletBroaden their contact base
bulletMake well-informed decisions about their path forward
bulletAlign who they are with their work

As a result organizations gain productivity from a more committed and effective workforce.
